A Claude skill (and plugin) for Claris FileMaker Pro development. Gives Claude accurate, version-aware knowledge of every FileMaker calculation function, script step, field type, and platform support matrix — verified against Claris documentation rather than relying on training data.

Which skill to start with. If you have Claris's Agentic Development Toolkit (ADT), start with fmp-dev-orchestrator: it routes each task, ADT included, and checks that your skills, ADT and FileMaker Pro are current. This skill is the reference it calls on. If you don't have ADT yet, this skill works on its own as your FileMaker Pro reference.

What it does

When this skill is active, Claude will:

• Look up any of the 368 calculation functions by name, category or description — with correct syntax, parameters, return type, and a direct link to the Claris Help Centre page
• Look up any of the 216 script steps across 16 categories, including the FM 26 AI additions and the new PDF Files and Persistent Data categories
• Answer "does this step work in WebDirect / FileMaker Go / the Data API?" from a verified matrix covering all 216 steps across seven products — Pro, Go, WebDirect, Server, Cloud, Data API, Custom Web Publishing
• Advise on field types — which options apply to which type, indexing and storage behaviour, the eight summary types, container external storage, and FM 26 advanced field options
• Reference accurate error codes with official descriptions
• Cover the OData API, FileMaker Data API, WebDirect and FileMaker Go surfaces directly
• Detect version drift — if a fetched page's "Originated in version" is newer than the version the reference files were verified against, it flags it
• Work with Claris's Agentic Development Toolkit (ADT). When ADT is installed, the skill defers to Claris's own Help pages and the real FileMaker engine for exact signatures, validates every calculation it writes, and adds the platform, version and API detail ADT doesn't carry. Without ADT it works exactly as before

Scope

Deliberately FileMaker Pro only, and deep on that surface. It is not a minimal name-and-signature vocabulary list, and not a link index that defers every real answer to a web fetch — the local files carry verified content and answer most questions without a network round-trip.

Out of scope: FileMaker Server administration, Claris Connect, Claris Studio, and deep ODBC/JDBC configuration.
